Situated in a large Greco-Roman style building, on the beaches of northern Calleopaea, the institute is a well recognized building in the large town of Hadrens. The institutions rooms consist of 180 classrooms, the famous Calleopaean Institute Library, a museum of magic and history, faculty rooms and dorms for the students and staff. There is also a large cafeteria with marble tables and wooden seats, near to the kitchens. The dorm rooms consist of a large main living area with four connected smaller bedrooms. Like most buildings in Calleopaea the entire building has a working sewage and running water system that connects to the channels of Hadrens.
The museum has many artifacts that are heavily protected, information on the rift of 0AR and other important evens, including the first recorded tome, which is a first hand account of the great heroes of Rune. The library has vast shelves and multiple floors of books, some magic, some mundane, some educational. Another feature of the school includes labs for alchemy, magic and inventing. many magitek things have been invented in the college including the mage gun and singing crystals.
*an urchin gentleman with large glasses, a messy mop of curly blonde hair, dalmation colored dog ears and tail and a rather fancy although unkempt vest, tail coat, button up shirt, trousers and leather loafers steps up to him. he shifts his glasses* " looking for something in particular?"
"Gah! Dog! I-I mean, yes, I do need some assistance." He said, adjusting his own glasses. "I am currently researching a particular element that could lead to the GREATEST discovery of our time! It's imperative I find Thraxweed, but for the life of me I cannot find it when perusing this....admittedly modest selection of tomes."
The cait sith gestured to the massive pile of books, twice as tall as he was and haphazardly stacked. He looked back towards the urchin.
"With your assitance I could be the first to discover a true potion of immortality! With but a simple drink the throes of death will be removed and SCIENCE shall prevail where magic has failed!"
He began to cackle maniacally, reaching to the air with opened hands.
*he shifts his glasses again appearing to think a bit* "thats quite an ambitious project. The greatest minds have been working to find such a concoction of centuries, nay , millenniums. I do quite admire your eagerness for the art of alchemy, this book here might help you." *he grabs a book off a shelf and sets it down, flipping pages till he comes across something* Ah, the famous doctor of Alkahesty, Maliq Sazaqadessa, had supposedly found the recipe for this, but one ingredient has eluded our alchemists and mages here for centuries. this ingredient is the Philosophers stone."
"That accursed Philosopher's stone.....the minds of a million geniuses and a simple solution eludes our grasp! Once I have perfected this potion, I will spend all of eternity discovering that material. And with it we'll dominate the planet!"
He looked over the book Albion gave him, letting out the occasional "interesting", "Oh I see", or "Oh, I should've thought of that" under his breath. With a nod he looked up.
"Astounding information! I was a fool for missing this. I apologize for requesting this of you without even asking your name."
"its fine, im a professor here, and helping the students with tasks of any size is our M.O. ... but if you wish to know my name, its Albion Chichester Larkshire, but you can call me Professor Larkshire
"I should have known! Professor Larkshire, consider me a fan of yours! Your dissertation on the combinations of magic with more conventional forms of science was what got me started in this field! It's an honor to meet you in person. Although I will admit my sights have moved away from magical use towards a pure SCIENCE usage! You see, what I'm trying to achieve? I want to achieve it WITHOUT the Philosopher's Stone!"
*albion takes his hand and shakes it* "well its quite exciting to know i have a fan! but indeed i am but a humble purveyor of knowledge. hmmm quite a predicament, although i do wish you luck on your findings, and if you manage to find a way to do such a feat, i bet youd become a professor of this college as well as quite famous through out Rune! alas from what ive read, it seems quite impossible to make such a serum with or without the philosophers stone. by jove, we dont even quite know how a philosophers stone is made or if one even exists. its quite the enigma. the closest thing ive seen i had actually discovered in nature, you know of my discovery of the mage-crystal correct? i believe the scientific name of the mineral is Albionite, but sadly the crystal did not work in the recipe mr sazaqadessa wrote, but on the plus side it helped improve the mage-gun as well as allow me to create these prosthesis"
*he moves his metal arm showing the precision with which it works*
*from a few rows over, there is a thud and a skittering sound as a small mechanical contraption scurries around one bookshelf to the next* Yeah, yeah sparky, I'm fine, just tripped over a stool. *a series of whistles, clicks and chirps* no, I didn't break anything. *whistles in a lower pitch* Nevermind me, did you find that tome yet? *whistles happily and scurries back around the shelf, and groaning of metal is heard as it slowly comes back around carrying a large blue tome.* No, no, no sparky, I told you it's a Red tome. Do you even listen to me when i talk? *clicks and chirps in a descending pattern* just go put it back, I'll keep looking here. *sparky is seen coming back around the corner with the heavy blue tome once again*
*rapid whistles and clicks are heard around the shelf again* did you actually find it this time? *as that is being said, a large soul-jar walks out from between the bookshelves and notices he is not alone.* oh! Greetings master Albion. *he says making a slight bow, accidentally dropping the book he is holding* I hope I did not disturb you. *kneels to pick up his book again as more whistles and clicks sound off, and sparky comes back around the corner holding a smaller red bound tome.*
"oh your presence is not an issue, im quite glad to see so much studying going on in the libraries here. If i may ask what are you studying for? any particular tome or information i could help with, id be glad to offer some knowledge and assistance."
"well i'm looking for..." sparky taps on his leg "Oh! here it is!" Delrim kneels to pick up the book and sparky runs up his arm. "I needed this book that has various golem designs in it. Sparky here damaged one of his fine manipulators in a lab accident, and I borrowed the design from this book." Sparky uses his good grasper to hide the damaged one and turns around when it is mentioned.
Dingmamon: the sanctuary would help if the group tried to just murder hobo them from the start, or if they ran away, but if you describe them how you did, i don't think they'd just attack for no reason

Guest: This place still active?
Apr 13, 2016 7:01:34 GMT
Dingmamon: not really. the guy who started it is in the military now, and those of us that did stick around had life stuff come up
Apr 13, 2016 20:12:19 GMT
shogungari: Hey Ding, I see you still come here. Any incentive to revive this place?
Jun 29, 2016 23:20:30 GMT
Dingmamon: I would love to, but really the only time I have to actually check it is when i'm at work. If you want to revive it by advertising and stuff, I will do what I can to keep it up and running smoothly for you, but I probably wouldn't be able to actively
Jun 30, 2016 18:58:23 GMT
Dingmamon: participate in any games
Jun 30, 2016 18:58:33 GMT
Dingmamon: By all means if you want to set something up and run it, go for it. I still have Admin access since Zekey left it to me when he joined the Navy, and from conversations with him, he probably isn't coming back
Jun 30, 2016 19:00:30 GMT
Dingmamon: Alternatively, if you wanted to set your own one of these up, you would have the ability to shape it and tailor it to what you wanted a bit more, and I'd be willing to help keep things organized on it so you can focus on people and games
Jun 30, 2016 19:05:52 GMT
shogungari: Nope, just seeing if you had something planned.
