"D'Jangus, was it? What can you tell us about the tracks?" Halamar maintained his rear guard position and continued to check the surroundings casually.
"Nightfall does not concern me, Harold. Tell the tale again - what happened, as best you can remember? Be detailed, please. We may be able to focus and find additional details." Halamar listened carefully to the reply, gauging how truthful he thought Harold was being.

"Well....I'm not big on remembering it, but I suppose I could tell it to you again if you can gauge any information..." Harold said, scratching the back of his neck.
"So, I'm from the Order of The Green- a group dedicated to protecting L'aeldrei's power so only he may use it. The stone is at the top of a large tower eye level with L'aeldrei himself when he rests. Normally we don't get many people up there. Goblins thinking they can steal it, the occasional tourist who got lost and wanted to see the stone, but one day I was meditating as usual when this massive orc comes up the stairs holding a hammer as big as he was.
'Get out of my tower, pipsqueak.' He tells me. He gets a good grip on his hammer. I get up from my meditation to try and challenge him. 'Your tower? This is L'aeldrei's tower!' I tell him, 'You're not allowed in here without permissions.'
'That can be arranged.' He says to me, and he grabs me by the skull- with one hand!- and tosses me down the stairs! I took a beating from that, but I made my way back up- I wasn't going to let him take the stone, you know? So I make it back up and he's eyeing the stone. I don't think he knows how to remove it from the pedestal, but it's obvious he's getting close. he looks back at me and goes 'this tower is mine now. The stone, the forest, L'aeldrei's power, it all belongs to me. If you value your life you'll leave immediately.'
"Personally, I'm surprised he's so calm and well versed. I expected orcs to say things like 'me blow you up' or something, but this guy had an agenda! So I charge him, claws drawn, and I pounce. I grab onto him and start clawing at his face! He backs off and throws me off, but I tumble back to protect myself and go in again, this time hoping to stun him with a well placed strike to his limbs. He comes at me with his hammer and thankfully he misses, but the force was enough to stop me. He tries to bring the hammer down from overhead and I dodge out of the way and keep my foot on the hammer to hold it in place. So we're having this tug-of-war for control of the fight when all of a sudden another orc comes up. Thinner, shorter, with filed down tusks or whatever orcs call that underbite of theirs. He doesn't even say anything, he just makes a motion with his hands...."
Harold attempted to mimic the motion, but ended up making a circle motion before hesitating and shrugging.
"Honestly, I wasn't paying too close attention to it, but afterwards he pointed to the ground and goes 'Boss, under you!'
"Crulmor lets go of the hammer and slams his fists into the ground, cracking the floor! I panic because he's going to destroy the tower this way, so I try to come at him but that's what he wanted. He grabs me by the neck and slams me into the ground, cracking it more. 'This forest is mine, pipsqueak. Long live the new Spirit of the forest- Crulmor!' He says before he slam dunks me into the ground, cracking the floor enough for me to fall through. Just then I noticed the other orc had somehow created a dimensional gate under the floor! I fell into it and popped out somewhere outside of Manaridge! I had to take a few days to heal, but once I did I came straight here to find someone to help me. And that's all I know."
Harold seems to be telling the truth.

Finwe was able to assess that these kinds of tracks belonged to goblins.

"This may very well be a well traveled road. However, these tracks belong to goblins. We best be on the lookout for ambushes."

"Aye, and if were Goblins that made these tracks, they had the awareness to at least try and cover their tracks." *D'Jangus takes out his composite longbow and scans the sides of the path for any movement*

"Goblins, you say? Well, they shouldn't be much problem if they give us trouble." Harold said as the group continued their walk.
D'Jangus would notice a good 200 feet down the road there was a sign on the side of the road.

"There's a sign a ways ahead, shall we get a closer look?" *D'Jangus asked over his shoulder as he continued walking*

As D'Jangus approached the sign, he noticed the sign had two arrows on it along with some numbers on them. One arrow pointed down the normal path with a "10" on it. The other arrow had a "5" on it. That path, however, seemed less worn and more wild, the path giving away to nature and the forest floor.

Halamar nodded slowly, picking over the story as Harold told it.
"Which way do the goblins' tracks go?" Halamar continued to check the area, and took the time to mentally map where they were, hoping to decipher what the rather vague sign could mean.

Finwe is able to see that the tracks go down the more wild path. Halamar, meanwhile, assumes he's still on Rune.

"It appears that the goblin tracks go into the forest. I would suggest that we keep on the main path until we reach our destination. If we keep a good pace, we just might reach there before nightfall."

"Smart idea. I don't know why anyone would want to wander into the wilderness like that." Harold added, shuddering a little. "There's probably bears in there. Null, maybe even tigers, or lions or something."
